Chad Smith joined the TRUNO team in 2017 as Chief Operating Officer. Chad spent over 20 years in the grocery retail industry serving in a variety of in-store and technology roles. He has led technology teams for a number of progressive grocery chains, with a heavy focus on team building, customer service, process implementation and strong technology foundations. During that time, Chad was also a TRUNO customer, which gives him a unique perspective on the retail industry overall and TRUNO customers’ point of view specifically.
Having been in customer service roles his whole career, Chad firmly believes trust is the foundation for every interaction we have with our customers—and with each other. Following Chad's leadership by example, his teams are responsible for on-site hardware and software service and repair, backoffice software support, warehouse and supply chain operations, and project implementations.
Chad has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Texas Tech University. Outside his “day job” he enjoys watching his kids’ sporting events, as well as traveling and experiencing new cultures and places.
