TRUNO’s steadfast promise to navigate our partners through the ever-changing world of retail technology drives us to continually grow our offerings. Our current product portfolio provides capabilities in point of sale, margin management, productivity, digital commerce and risk management. Paired with complete integrations into our customers’ data and operations, we offer a comprehensive end-to-end solution that can be tailored to each retailer. Now, we are expanding point of sale in a truly impactful way.
As concepts of drones and autonomous cars delivering our groceries slowly inch toward reality, shoppers are eagerly looking for the next best way to buy goods. Because of this, we’ve partnered with My Cloud Grocer (MCG) to help retailers provide a simplified online shopping experience through a click-and-collect eCommerce solution.
MCG is an end-to-end eCommerce grocery solution provider for supermarket chains and large single locations, specializing in helping retailers quickly integrate their brick-and-mortar stores into an online environment. Through an integration with TRUNO’s TruCommerce software, the MCG eCommerce platform connects to existing POS systems and back office pricing and inventory data. This allows grocers to provide a seamless click-and-collect experience for their shoppers.
Although the majority of shoppers still prefer an in-store experience, USA Today reports that, in 2017, 43 percent of millennials surveyed by the Food Marketing Institute shop online for groceries. This should be exciting news for grocers. The opportunity to address the need for online convenience is present and growing.
With MCG, customers can fill their online shopping cart from the comfort of their home with whatever their local store has in stock. The best part – all shoppers have to do is pick them up or, better yet, wait for their groceries to be delivered to their front door. The actual shopping is done by an on-premise associate.
The solution also allows the customer to do a “quick re-order” in order to duplicate their last successful purchase, save frequently purchased products as “favorites,” and even scan the barcode of items in their pantry using the MCG mobile app.
When shoppers decide to branch out and explore new recipes, or accommodate for their families during a holiday, they will have the added convenience of being able to “shop-by-recipe.” Paired with digital circulars integrated into platform, customers can shop efficiently while saving valuable time and money.
The solution makes fulfillment of orders just as simple. Store associates can use the MCG Personal Shopper app to sort a customer’s list based on the store’s layout, minimizing the time it takes to fulfill each order.
Believe it or not, retailers using MCG have seen a 15-percent increase in in-store sales after using the eCommerce platform, along with an online basket size that’s four times larger than on-premise. More importantly, this can be interpreted as an increase in customer loyalty and retention.
This is all offered as a seamless experience for the consumer. MCG integrates effortlessly with a grocer’s existing POS, credit card processor and loyalty program, while providing benefits such as:
